Chautauqua Wearhouse

The Chautauqua Wearhouse was founded in 2005 by mother and daughter Patricia Finson and Ruth Nelson. The business began as an extension of Pat’s original shop Pat’s at Chautauqua, but quickly developed into its own, with Ruth doing the buying and merchandising of the shop. Located in Chautauqua Institution, The Chautauqua Wearhouse is a ladies boutique featuring apparel, shoes and accessories. Ruth’s focus is on providing excellent customer service as well as quality, well-fitting garments, with a focus on domestically made goods. She does a high sales volume June through August. The store is open May through October.

In January of 2017, I took the shop over from Pat and had to do all of the required steps to establish the LLC, paperwork for NYS, payroll, etc. Through the guidance and support of Gleason Tax Advisory, I was able to plan ahead in fall of 2016 to be sure that when I took the shop over, the transition would go smoothly. Through Bruce and Janine, I am able to be present and available to my customers and not have to worry about the bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and taxes. I can have the peace of mind that Gleason Tax Advisory is watching out for me and taking care of things behind the scenes so that I can operate a successful business. I never have to worry that I’m missing something or that at the end of the year, I’ll have to scramble to figure things out. We keep on track and can project out what my needs will be.
