The Chautauqua Wearhouse was founded in 2005 by mother and daughter Patricia Finson and Ruth Nelson. The business began as an extension of Pat’s original shop Pat’s at Chautauqua but quickly developed into its own, with Ruth doing the buying and merchandising of the shop. Located in Chautauqua Institution, The Chautauqua Wearhouse is a ladies’ boutique featuring apparel, shoes and accessories. Ruth’s focus is on providing excellent customer service as well as quality, well-fitting garments, with a focus on domestically made goods. She does a high sales volume from June through August. The store is open from May through October.
